VITAL ARTS is an Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage project, hosted by RMIT University, Deakin University & Maynooth University, focused on developing micro-credentials that recognise and value the sought after 21st Century Skills young people gain through arts participation. Over 5 years, the Vital Arts team have collaborated with key industry partners Creative Australia, The Push, Australian Theatre for Young People, Centre for Multicultural Youth, Future Foundations, Back to Back Theatre, Carclew, L2R Dance, and Gippsland Art Gallery. Together, we co-designed and trialled micro-credentials that recognise the skills of creativity, problem solving, communication collaboration, social and cultural awareness, transferrable and employable skills gained through youth arts participation and training.
This event will bring together industry partners, educators, policymakers and the youth sector to celebrate the development of and launch of the VITAL ARTS Micro-credential.
