Interlocutor is a series of discussions featuring major artists working across a wide array of creative fields. There will be four of these discussions across 2022. In each conversation the guest artist will engage in critical discussion with the creative arts researchers of Flinders University. Interlocutor is an opportunity to delve deep into a number of creative domains and hear from some of the most outstanding leaders in their respective fields.

Online and in person.

The first discussion will be on Thursday 28 April with NYC based architect Charles Renfro.

Charles is a partner at Diller, Scofidio + Renfro which is one the world’s leading architecture firms based in New York City.

Charles will be in conversation with Professor Penny Edmonds Dean of Research at the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, Flinders University, Professor Garry Stewart, the Director of Assemblage Centre for Creative Arts at Flinders University and Lee-Ann Tjunypa Buckskin, Assistant Director of Tarrkarri – South Australia’s new Aboriginal Art and Cultures Centre.

They will discuss the intersection of performance, art, and architecture in Diller, Scofidio and Renfro’s work, including projects that animate landscape such as Arbores Laetae (Joyful Trees), High Line, Blur Building, and Zaryadye Park as well as the development of Tarrkarri.

This is certain to be an unmissable event!
