Immersive kids’ colour adventure
Following on from the blockbuster 2018 kids’ exhibition Animaze, Fremantle Arts Centre presents an even bigger and more colourful creative experience for kids with Hundreds and Thousands.
Hundreds and Thousands will transform the galleries and grounds into colour-filled worlds, with vibrant interactive artworks created and displayed specifically for children and families to enjoy.
Across a spectrum of colour-themed spaces, Hundreds and Thousands will create rich sensory experiences for kids of all ages, including kinetic colour machines to explore, giant golden soft sculptures to touch, cool blue optical illusions and mysterious multicoloured dimensions.
Follow chromatic trails through artworks, play spaces and all-access activities, created by more than 40 artists. Hundreds and Thousands features newly commissioned artworks by Rosie Deacon, Sohan Ariel Hayes and Ngamaru Bidu, Phil Gamblen, Rox de Luca and more.
An exciting program of kids’ colour-related art courses, workshops, activities and events will run in conjunction with Hundreds and Thousands. More details about these programs will be announced soon.
To celebrate Hundreds and Thousands, Odette Mercy and her Soul Atomics’ Kids Soul Party will brighten up the Front Garden on Sun 21 Nov with her joyous brand of soul-funk, in an interactive performance which kids (and big kids) will love in equal measure. Expect colourful tunes, dancing and kid-friendly fun.
