The City of Belmont Artist Talk Series sees Professional Artists deliver conversational, visual presentations on their work in the Events Room at Ruth Faulkner Library.
Invited artists will discuss their creative processes, previous projects, future directions and share advice for emerging artists and art enthusiasts. Audience members have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion.
Janice Oliver is a Rivervale resident and contemporary artist who explores shadow and the light of life in the rural and urban landscape. Often, Janice sees art as emulating life, where we begin, is not where we end, instead it is the joy of the process.
Janice’s lived experience as a farmer and agricultural scientist contributes to her curiosity and experiments with processes, materials, colour and textures. Natural materials are often incorporated into her work. Her practice includes print making, photography, mixed media, sculpture, glass and installation.
In her talk Janice will give insight into her practice and the joy of her art through participating in residences, exhibitions, public art, place-based activations, and community workshops.
Tickets are free for City of Belmont residents (Ascot, Belmont, Cloverdale, Kewdale, Redcliffe and Rivervale), free for students, and $5 for non-residents. Students may be required to present a current valid student ID.
