The Australian Academy of the Humanities, in partnership with the Australian Dialogues, will present a Big Dialogue event on ‘The State of the Arts in The Lucky Country’ on Wednesday 13 November from 5.30pm at Louie Louie in Verity Lane, Canberra.
The collaborative panel event will probe issues about funding, governance, and sustainability for the Arts sector in Australia. The discussion will examine how we can strengthen the Australian Arts sector at both state and national levels.
This event is suited to anyone working in, or with an interest in, the arts or policy spaces with an interest in building a robust arts sector in Australia.
Moderated by Kelly Burke, arts reporter for The Guardian Australia, the panellists are:
- Former Queensland Minister for the Arts, Ian Walker
- University of the Sunshine Coast Creative Industries Lecturer, Dr Karen Hands
- Former Artistic Director at Opera Australia, Lyndon Terracini AM OSI.
The unique format of the Australian Dialogues brings together experts who are willing to seek common ground and explore possible agreed solutions.
Tickets to the event begin at $45, with snacks included in the ticket price.
