Arts employment opportunities decline but industry grows

The latest research on industry trends is bad news for job seekers but it proves the arts is doing more with less.

16,000 jobs were lost in the arts sector in the period from 1 July 2013 to the end of June 2014.

The annual survey of Australian Industry just released by the Australia Bureau of Statistics shows employment in the arts and recreation services declined by 7.4% from​ 2013-2014 to 2014-2015.
