50 years since its conception, the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) will pay tribute to the Old Tote Theatre’s legacy as a historical site for Australia’s rich theatre culture. Responsible for igniting the careers of many Australian actors, directors and playwrights in the 1960s and 70s, March 2013 will see NIDA delving into the history of the creative space that was instrumental in shaping the future of Australian theatre.

NIDA will present an exhibition and program of events that will reflect on the past 50 years since the establishment of the Old Tote Theatre. The programs will explore the rich history of the iconic theatre from its ‘Tin Shed  infancy to becoming the official state drama company of New South Wales.
