Manan Chaturvedi battled with exhaustion to make it through 72 hours of painting straight to raise money for educating the 88 children she calls her own: two biological and the rest adopted.

Chaturvedi had a promising clothing design career which she gave up after seeing a young girl lying in the rubbish in Jaipur, eight years ago. She told IANS that she wondered ‘for whom [she] would design clothes if half the population in this country goes without them’.
