Clare Watson is currently the Director in Residence at Melbourne’s Malthouse Theatre, but is now preparing to work with a different breed of actors – all under the age of 18.

‘I am excited to build fruitful collaborations between St Martins with some of Australia’s best theatre makers, and companies like the Malthouse Theatre,’ the VCA graduate said.

Along with directing shows at the Sydney Opera House and the Melbourne Arts Centre, Watson has also dabbled in installation performances in cars, hotel rooms, crumbling apartments and the Old Melbourne Gaol.

Watson hopes to see performances ‘popping up in the most unexpected places… both here and overseas’.
