Smart cultural organisations are moving beyond online archiving and social media to make digital media part of their creative process.

In the fast moving world of technology, it is no longer enough for arts organisations to maintain a webpage and a social media presence. With another 14 Australian organisations joining the Google Cultural Institute recently, archiving online has become standard.  Social media is demanding increasingly creative fodder and live streaming is widespread, not only of performances but even of rehearsals, as a 20 hour international project to live stream ballet rehearsals last October for World Ballet Day.
