Using your holidays to improve your job prospects

Relieved it’s holiday time? A couple of weeks off can be a great opportunity to hone your resume and improve your employability for a job that doesn’t make you dream of time off.

 If you’ve been dreaming of holidays all year then, paradoxically, now may not be the time to switch off. Sure we all need a break but if you have a job you love, you don’t spend 11 months of the year wishing it were December.

 

 The trouble is if you have a job that isn’t what you want; it doesn’t leave you much time to look for one you do want. If you are serious about improving your career prospects, consider putting aside at least a few days these holidays for extra-curricular activities that will widen your skills base and open up new avenues.
