BELCO ARTS WORKSHOP/ART TEACHER ASSISTANT
The position has responsibility for:
Assisting teachers with students attending workshops at the Arts Centre. Assisting with signing in of students and performing other functions as directed by the teacher, designed to assist students to have an enjoyable and safe learning experience.
Teacher’s Assistant report to: Front of House Coordinator & Public Programs Officer & Teacher
Teacher’s Assistant coordinate with: Front of House Coordinator & Public Programs Officer & Teacher
Responsibilities include:

Arrive fifteen minutes before the shift starts

Meet with the teacher for debriefing and assignment of duties for the shift
-
Greet and sign in students (children or adults), direct children to desks
-
Assist children while they are in the Arts Centre (for instance accompanying young children to bathrooms when needed)

Provide information and direct/assist with children to appropriate exits in the event of an emergency
-
Assist with children who may be distressed or need time out during class
-
Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher

Help clean workshop after class, leaving the space clean and tidy for the next user (sweep floors and wash if necessary, clean sinks. Bin rubbish to be tied in bags for staff to place in hoppers.

Advise Front of House Coordinator & Public Programs Officer if cleaning supplies need replenishing
Qualifications:

Friendly and personable

Excellent customer service skills required!

A team player, must work well with others

Must be available for a three-hour shift
