Yarra City Council's International Women's Day Award 2020 (Expired)

In 2020 we want to highlight the unseen labour and feminist work that brings communities together.

Yarra City Council's International Women’s Day Award is an opportunity for us to reflect on these contributions and shine a light on the people behind them.

If you know someone who lives, works or volunteers in Yarra and who strives to create a more equal world then we encourage you to nominate them now.

Examples of the kind of work we're looking for

  • Work that supports positive social change.
  • Work that advocates for a feminist future.
  • Work that increases the participation of those that identify as women and non-binary in male dominated areas.

ABOUT THE AWARDS

There are two award categories this year: The International Women's Day Award which is open to individuals and groups and the Emerging Leader Award which is open to individuals who are still establishing themselves in their work.

The winner of the International Women's Day Award will win $500 and will have their work recognised at Yarra's International Women's Day event as well as across Yarra's social media platforms, news publications and EDMs.

The winner of the Emerging Leader Award will win $250 and will also have their work recognised at our special International Women's Day event and across our social media platforms, news publications and EDM's.

Both winners will be invited to take part in networking opportunities.
