The Mooroolbark Street Art Project is the Creation of a Public Artworks Collection to Revitalise Mooroolbark. Providing a significant contribution to the process of renewal and revitalisation of our precinct, artists will create works that take into account the concerns, needs and aspirations of our community.
A common theme during our consultation with the community has been the topic of our Indigenous flora and fauna, local to the Mooroolbark area, including extinct, rare, vulnerable and threatened species.
This callout is for Expressions of Interest in the creation of small, public artworks on the theme of Flora, Fauna & Ecosystems.
Artworks will become part of a larger collection of various artists' works, which will eventually form a walking trail that links the nature reserves, walking trails, parks & gardens to the urban retail and community spaces of the township.
The Artist/s will be expected to:
-
Design and create artworks in the township of Mooroolbark, that present positive and empowering stories and inspirations about the local people and place.
-
Consult and engage in regards to the design and content of the artwork.
-
Effectively communicate, consider and work well with diverse populations, with various ideas, needs and perspectives, including small businesses, community groups, all abilities, all ages, multicultural.
-
Create artworks that respond to the Mooroolbark Street Art Project Aims and Objectives http://www.mooroolbark.vic.au/mooroolbark-street-art/
