ICYMI: the week’s arts news

While closures continue to dominate, this week's arts news includes wins for Darwin Festival, regional music touring in NSW, an active sector in WA, plus more.

SURVEYING SUPPORT: NAVA is currently undertaking a sector pulse survey to both show the breadth and complexity of the visual arts and craft sector, and to highlight the experiences of individuals. We are asking for artists, arts workers and leaders across the sector to fill in this short 20 minute survey. The survey will be open until 5 September and the more responses we get, the better we can inform the government on the needs of the sector.

SUPPORT FOR PERFORMING ARTISTS: As of today (23 August, 2021), the $20million of additional funding the Federal Government has provided to Support Act will be available to all performing arts workers who have been financially affected by COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions. Grants are $2,000 for individuals and $2,700 for families with dependent children. Check out criteria and apply for COVID-19 Crisis Relief Grants.
