Hamish Fletcher

He's created culinary-based puppetry and taken shows internationally, yet Hamish Fletcher is in denial that he works in the arts.

Fletcher is also a performer and co-creator of Men Of Steel, a cooking-based puppetry troupe, who debuted at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2005 and subsequently toured internationally. Currently he is working with Men of Steel on Hard Rubbish, which opens at the Malthouse Theatre on Thursday 12 September.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I always thought being a detective would be pretty glamorous. This may say more about how much television I watched as a kid than I would like. However, when I get frustrated with puppetry I dream of throwing it all in and becoming a TV detective.
