ACT Government releases new arts policy and economic impact study

Feedback from more than 300 organisations and individuals has helped shape the new policy, which focus on collaboration, innovation, diversity and inclusiveness.

A new arts policy released this week by the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) government, in tandem with an economic impact study into the value of the Canberra arts sector, has been warmly received by local arts organisations.

Minister for the Arts Joy Burch said the 2015 arts policy had been developed following extensive consultation with the local arts sector and the broader Canberra community. A summary of the key themes of that consultation process can be read on the artsACT website.
