$50 million initiative targets workplace mental health

The new government strategy will be especially welcomed in the arts, where rates of depression and anxiety are considerably higher than in the general population.

The Victorian Government has launched a $50 million initiative targeting mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.  

Dubbed WorkHealth (and following on from a similar program of the same name, which ran from 2008-2013 and focused on the prevention of type 2 diabetes and heart disease) the new program is intended to empower employers to make workplace mental healthcare a priority.
