Smaller cities face partnership disadvantage

With Australia’s top 10 corporations all based in Melbourne or Sydney, companies in smaller cities and regional centres can struggle to diversify income through sponsorship.

BHP Billiton, NAB, Commonwealth Bank, Rio Tinto – Australia’s largest and wealthiest companies invariably have their corporate headquarters in either Melbourne or Sydney, placing arts organisations outside our two largest capitals at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to diversifying their income streams through corporate sponsorship or partnerships.
