In the battle for Victoria’s vote on Saturday 29 November, the arts are a significant part of the arsenal.

Major promises for big capital works have already been offered in strategic areas as detailed in ArtsHub’s election analysis. The Geelong Performing Arts Centre will win either way  ($35 million from the Coalition and $30 million from Labor).  The Palais will be saved under Labor with a $13.4 million commitment to refurbishing the decaying theatre. Under the Coalition there is money for Her Majesty’s ($1.6 million) and the Melbourne Arts Precinct  ($1 million).
