Regional Arts Victoria announced last week (24 March) that Bruce Esplin, former Emergency Services Commissioner, Victorian State Government, has been co-opted to join the RAV Board.
Bruce Esplin has had a long-standing involvement with the arts and with Regional Arts Victoria in particular. As a practising artist himself, Bruce understands the value of the arts and, since 2003, has seen first-hand the value of arts projects in helping to rebuild communities.
Following the 2009 Black Saturday Bushfires and in his capacity as the Emergency Services Commissioner, Bruce provided immeasurable support for RAV’s work in bushfire-affected communities. He has also been a key supporter of our current statewide project, Illuminated by Fire, a project that works with both bushfire- and non-bushfire affected communities around the state.
