OzCo cuts will fund Book Council

The 2014 Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) has revealed that the Abbott government is funding its new Book Council of Australia by cutting $6 million from the Australia Council over the forward estimates.

‘The Government will provide $6.0 million over three years to establish the Book Council of Australia (the Council), as part of the broader restructuring of government bodies within the Arts Ministry,’ the MYEFO papers state.
