Welcoming asylum seekers, welcoming culture

In a moving tribute to Aylan Kurdi, sand artist Pooja Harischandra opened the most recent Culture Talk held by Cultural Infusion by ​recreating the photograph that caused global outcry.

It was a powerful reminder that ​the deceased three-year old asylum seeker is not alone – every three minutes 24 people leave everything behind to escape war-torn countries, persecution and terror.
