Terra nullis for Indigenous mural

A prominent mural in Bondi Beach celebrating renowned Indigenous Rights activists has been whitewashed – literally.

The mural was commissioned by the Uniting Church in 2013 and painted by Aboriginal artist Paul Davis and English-born artist Etienne Cohen in tribute to five Aboriginal rights activists, including Eddie Mabo and Charles Perkins.

It was situated on the side of the Chapel by the Sea, a former local church that was taken over by Kings Cross-based service Wayside Chapel in July this year.
