Arts House is one of Australia’s most exciting contemporary arts presenters, with year-round programs of national and international performance, live art, installation and multidisciplinary work.
Complementing two annual seasons, Arts House forums and workshops further connect artists and audiences; as well as special biennial events Going Nowhere (a sustainable international arts exchange program) and two festivals presented in collaboration with venues across Melbourne, the Festival of Live Art (FOLA) and Australia’s only contemporary dance festival, Dance Massive.
Through the CultureLAB program, the City of Melbourne and Arts House in partnership with Creative Victoria provide crucial time and space for creative development. Encouraging risk and innovation, CultureLAB is a prolific incubator for both emerging and established artistic creators.
As a City of Melbourne program, Arts House enjoys a stability that allows both long-term artistic vision and ongoing investment in new ideas and art forms. Skilled curation of cutting-edge national and international work, combined with a vibrant Expression of Interest process, ensures that new voices are heard and supported within a distinctive and compelling program.
