WHAT IS THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF YOUTH PERFORMING ARTS?
The National Institute of Youth Performing Arts Australia believes that training in the performing arts is very important in developing the whole person. The development of aesthetic awareness begins through a personal experience of the arts. We provide members with a variety of personal experiences that enable choristers and dancers to enjoy and appreciate the artistic work of others.
It is our philosophy that all young people benefit from the pursuit of high standards and that young people who learn to work well in teams, develop vital skills that will help them develop successful relationships in their personal lives and within their future working environment.
The National Institute of Youth Performing Arts is made up of students enrolled in either of the two programs listed below:
AUSTRALIAN YOUTH CHOIR - Choral tuition for boys and girls. The Australian Youth Choir is committed to providing singers with a vocal experience that encourages them to excel as artists and develop into confident, accomplished performers. Through our carefully sequenced choral curriculum we develop the natural voice in a supportive environment that encourages teamwork, co-operation, communication, and self esteem.
AUSTRALIAN YOUTH DANCE THEATRE - Dance tuition in the Jazz style for boys and girls. The Australan Youth Dance Theatre supports young dancers as they develop their technical skills, through a curriculum that embraces performance. Our jazz programme appeals to their natural rhythm and the use of current popular music increases enjoyment while they learn. Each individual dancer in valued as an important member of the ensemble.
