QUT Creative Enterprise Australia (CEA) is passionate about the creative industries. CEA helps develop, grow and establish creative companies and is Australia’s only dedicated creative industries incubator. CEA works with companies at different stages of their development and provides essential business skills and pragmatic action-oriented mentoring focused on company growth and investment.
CEA focuses on emerging and startup businesses with significant growth opportunities, as well as established high-growth-potential businesses that are tackling new markets, or launching new products or services based on disruptive innovation. Fully dedicated to the mechanics of idea execution and investment, CEA offers business skills training that aims to demystify the creative process and offer real-world insight on how to get ready for investment.
CEA provides workspace, production facilities, mentoring, training opportunities, special events, access to networks and invaluable support for creative industries including film, television, music, design, fashion, games, IT and interactive media. Facilities include computing and digital studios, media labs, design and post production amenities, film and television studios and flexible workspaces like business offices, hot desks, suits and boardrooms.
Further contributing to Brisbane’s creative economy, CEA holds an annual forum called Creative3 focused on bringing together productive creative visionaries, entrepreneurs and innovators to unite in an immersive creative environment. With a blend of interactive sessions, keynote speakers, workshops, networking events and evening festivities, Creative³ is designed to spark collaboration and inspire companies to execute their ideas.
Located in the heart of Queensland University of Technology’s Creative Industries Precinct, CEA is a commercial company owned by QUT with an independent board of directors. CEA implements strategies and initiatives that build and drive Australia’s creative industries forward. CEA has supported over 150 creative businesses, established more than 20 startup companies and generated more than $10 million in investment since 2004.
