ABOUT THE GRANT
The NT+1 Theatre Fund assists independent theatre artists and groups living in the Northern Territory to engage interstate or international key artists to be part of the creation of new theatre works.
Independent theatre artists and groups may apply for up to $7,000 towards the cost of including a key interstate or international artist in the creative development or production stages of a new work.
The purpose of NT+1 fund is to increase access to national and international key artists for independent Territory artists and groups, particularly where distance and cost is a barrier to collaboration. You may apply for up to $7,000 for visiting key artist costs such as: air travel, accommodation, allowances and artist fees.
Visiting key artists could include directors, set, lighting, sound and multimedia designers and movement specialists. Performers, producers and production managers are not excluded however you will need to demonstrate:
*how they are critical to the realisation of the work
*that their skills are not available locally
The NT+1 fund does not support activities such as professional development workshops and residencies. However, it is expected that the visiting key artist will transfer knowledge and skills by their involvement in the creation of new work.
Potential applicants are encouraged to discuss their application with the relevant Australia Council team member. For further information, or to discuss your proposal, please contact:
