The Opportunity

As the Monash Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) expands to meet the needs of The Ian Potter Centre for Performing Arts, we are seeking a new part time (0.6) Marketing and Media Officer to join our team in a newly created role. With your strong administration skills and creative drive, you will provide operational support in the development and implementation of MAPA’s marketing and communication strategies.

Monash University is committed to supporting growth in the performing arts in Melbourne’s south-east, providing state-of-the-art facilities to world class professional productions, students, community groups, schools and local residents. Our Alexander Theatre is currently undergoing a major refurbishment as part of The Ian Potter Centre for Performing Arts, a $45 million performing arts centre that will be comprised of a revitalised 586-seat Alexander Theatre and two new dynamic performance venues: a 130-seat multi-purpose Sound Gallery and 200-seat Jazz Club and restaurant. These new venues will complement the existing Robert Blackwood Hall at the Clayton campus, and George Jenkins Theatre at the Peninsula campus.

Our ideal candidate will rise to creative challenges equipped with highly developed communications skills and experience in supporting a team who develops marketing, PR, social media and brand communication initiatives.

Your ability to understand digital platforms and data management will be a vital asset in this role as MAPA is growing and expanding its online presence.

If you have a sound knowledge of new technologies and programs in the marketing space and are ready to apply your expertise in a new era of 21st century performing arts facilities we encourage you to apply.
