Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour is a spectacular opera event like no other. In 2018, from 23 March to 22 April, Mrs Macquaries Point will be once again transformed into an outdoor pop-up opera house with purpose-built bars, restaurants and a grandstand under the stars. Next year’s new production of La Bohème is especially anticipated.
Volunteering is an exciting way to get involved in this event which brings together over 700 people, including international and national artists, creatives, musicians and technicians.
Volunteers will work with the Front of House team to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and to inform and direct audience members. Volunteers can also opt to assist with the event’s backstage tours, a chance to see the coalface of this tremendous production.
A friendly and positive attitude is all that is required, and volunteers can expect a rewarding experience, learning new and valuable skills and meeting like-minded people.
To say thank you, Opera Australia is pleased to offer each volunteer two complimentary tickets to a performance and a volunteer t-shirt is a memento to keep.
Opera Australia is pleased to be able to offer this experience of the opera to up to 100 volunteers. Details below.
