Every two years since 2001, Ten Days on the Island has presented a state-wide program dedicated to the art of island cultures such as Newfoundland, Guernsey, Anglesey, Hong Kong, Iceland and Aotearoa/New Zealand.

Today the festival’s Artistic Director, David Malacari, announced a change of name for the event. Henceforth to be known as the Tasmanian International Arts Festival, he said the festival’s new title made its focus clearer to Tasmanians and the international arts community alike.
