First creative arts Laureate awarded in Australia

A NSW academic has received $3.2 million to harness immersive visualisation technology and pioneer a new approach to the study of subjective experience.

UNSW Art & Design’s Professor Jill Bennett was among the 17 Australian Laureate Fellows announced by the Federal Minister for Education and Training, the Hon Simon Birmingham.

Bennett’s win forms part of $20 million received by UNSW scholars in the latest round of grants from the Australian Research Council (ARC), which includes two Laureates and 12 Future Fellowships.
