Eamon Flack’s recent appointment as Belvoir’s next Artistic Director surprised few in the industry, given his long involvement with the company.

‘I feel like I’ve been serving a sort of apprenticeship for this job, I suppose, ever since I started working under Neil [Armfield] in 2006. The first half of my time here I was not directing on the main stage; I was, I guess, in a funny way shadowing Neil and very much a part of the day to day artistic evolving of the company’s work,’ he told ArtsHub.
