Perhaps the arts can learn innovation from banking

The arts like to think of themselves as the heart of originality but perhaps we can learn from info tech, design and even banking when it comes to innovation.

At its most basic, an innovation lab is a group of smart people in a room, coming up with creative solutions to problems. Many key products that we use every day have emerged from labs: the pocket scientific calculator, the LED light and the laser printer all emerged from HP Labs; Amazon’s Kindle was developed at Lab 126; while MIT’s Project Mac launched the world’s first computer keyboard, fax machine and personal operating system.
