About the Course
Everyday discrimination and how it can be avoided
We will explore the limitations of an ‘ablist’ perspective – a view that can’t see beyond its own socio-physical privilege. The experience of people with perceived disabilities is paramount to understanding the complex and intersectional dynamics of life in an urban hub like Melbourne. This workshop reveals an often hidden world of discrimination based on body and mind politics. Hear from expert speakers about myths surrounding ableism and how combating ableism paves the way for universal access and design-based thinking.
