For over 40 years, AFTRS has taught Australia’s creative talent to tell compelling stories that have had the power to move and inspire. Storytelling is now considered an essential skill for anyone who needs to communicate effectively with prospects, customers, leaders or peers. The Applied Storytelling workshop uses practical exercises to ensure you can apply these creative communications skills directly to your workplace.

LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE
This course is suitable for anyone from absolute beginner to master communicator.
It was great to really think about how to present messaging as a story.
Course was amazing, really thought provoking, practical and hands on to solve a specific situation.
It was helpful to see what is and isn’t necessary when crafting a story. I also benefitted from the group discussion, and enjoyed dedicating a day to creative storytelling.
ABOUT THE COURSE LECTURER: ANDREW GARRICK
This course is taught by Andrew Garrick, a deeply experienced TV and digital content producer. Andrew’s success has been defined by his ability to understand and engage audiences. He has produced major projects for Channels Seven and Ten, ABC, SBS, MTV and BBC Worldwide and as an Executive Producer for content at Ensemble - an agency which prides itself on creating "Opt-In" ideas. He is currently directing multiple shows for the ABC and is in development with Beyond Screen for a feature film. Recently, he helped establish a joint venture between Beyond Productions and Ensemble Australia to create Virtual Reality stories. Andrew has also directed commercials for Volvo, Formula One, Target, Queensland Tourism and many more.
