Presented by Darwin High School and the Northern Territory Government, Joanna Noonan’s Time is described as an emotive and confronting work that explores the reality of premature death as a result of risky choices made by young people behind the wheel of a car.
This piece of dance theatre purposely doesn’t mask the domino affect experienced by family, friends and community when a young person dies. The story tells of a group of teenage friends who are driving down the Stuart Highway on their way home to the bush from a night out in Darwin, a tragedy soon unfolds.
Through the implementation of multimedia and contemporary dance, Time will connect with audiences through a montage narrative which is character based.
Running time of the performance is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes with no interval. Latecomers will be admitted during a suitable break in the program. Cameras and recording equipment will not be permitted in the auditorium.
This is an assigned seat event in the Playhouse. Capacity is approximately 1000.
