Dion Lee
Sydney born designer Dion Lee is one of the most exciting in names in fashion. At only 24 years of age, Lee is one of the youngest yet most sought after names in the fashion industry.
Last year Lee lived up to the hype surrounding him by winning the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival Young Designer Award, and has since moved from strength to strength.
Despite his meteoric rise Lee has remained grounded and committed to designing clothes with an uncompromised attention to detail. Inspired by the construction of clothing, Lee uses traditional tailoring techniques ingeniously morphed with avant-garde treatments, resulting in cutting-edge garments that are also extremely functional – working women seek out the designer’s sharp jackets just as discerning party girls clamber for his inventive cocktail frocks.
This design duality seems infused in every aspect of Lee’s work: modern versus classic, structured verses fluid, and understated verses verbose.
