MEDIA RELEASE COURTESY OF: VISUALANTE
A forthcoming photographic exhibition highlighting the talents of 19 Brisbane based creative artists looks set to give further exposure to the developing Queensland art scene.
je ne sais quoi will take place on the 12th February 2010 and will explore the theme of ‘Fashion As Art’. Under the creative and project direction of Visualante, and the assistance of event co-ordination from Jessica Hutt, the exhibition will bring together the crème of Brisbane’s most talented emerging designers, stylists, and hair and make-up artists.
In addition to the exhibition’s fashion photography element, creatives who work with mediums such as film, illustration and installation have been invited to exhibit their work inspired by the project’s objectives.
Visualante’s Director Jessica Lambert advised that the exhibition plans to provide a visionary vehicle for Queensland’s freshest creative minds to demonstrate what they do best.
She says, “Just as art is an act of creation, so is fashion. We want to help recognize those artists working in the fashion realm as sophisticated visionaries who sit equally with their fellow peers within the traditional arts.”
“It’s about jobs, talent, ideas and networking. We are determined the event will showcase the professionalism and uniqueness of the state’s emerging creative generation,” adds Jessica.
