MEDIA RELEASE COURTESY OF: GOING DOWN SWINGING
(NATIONAL) Going Down Swinging (GDS) is an international, literary / spoken word / comic art journal published in Melbourne and is inviting submissions.
We accept submissions from writers and artists internationally. Going Down Swinging is not a themed journal and has no restrictions regarding content or genre - we're interested in all points of view and subject matter. We are particularly interested in work that pushes the boundaries of the literary - experimental fiction / non-fiction, poetry, spoken word and comic art.
In 2010 Going Down Swinging is publishing our 30th anniversary issue - a special bumper issue due for release in August, featuring two CDs of spoken word, comic art, short fiction, poetry and a graphic novella.
We are now calling for submissions of short fiction and non-fiction (max. 5,000 words), poetry, flash, comic / graphic art, and spoken word recordings for the GDS No.30 Submissions for this issue close 31st March 2009.
All contributing writers and artists are paid (fee $75 - $100 plus a copy of the journal).
Please visit our website: www.goingdownswinging.org.au/submissions to read the full submissions guidelines, and download the submission cover sheet
