Screen Australia has announced that Victoria Treole and Matthew Dabner have been appointed as Industry Specialists for Screen Australia’s Production Investment Department.
As Industry Specialists, Victoria and Matthew will sit on the committee with Screen Australia executives to assess applications for feature film production funding.
Victoria and Matthew will take over from Scott Meek and Tristram Miall who finished their tenure at Christmas. Scott will continue to work for Screen Australia as a Feature Film Consultant.
“Victoria brings extensive experience in marketing, development and financing to the role which complements Matthew’s track record as a producer, script writer and developer. I welcome them both to the team,” said Ruth Harley, Screen Australia Chief Executive. “I also want to acknowledge the significant contributions that Scott and Tristram made to Screen Australia during a period of considerable change. Screen Australia thanks them for their ongoing passion for and commitment to Australian stories and filmmakers.”
Matthew Dabner has previously worked as a development executive in the United States as well as writing The Square and producing Cedar Boys. Most recently Matthew has been a Development & Production Investment Executive at Screen NSW.
Victoria brings extensive experience working in development, marketing and distribution within Australia and overseas to the role of Industry Specialist. Her previous roles include Director International Market Development and Executive Creative Affairs for the Australian Film Commission. Victoria was employed to establish Miramax Films in Australia, initially focused on acquisitions from Australia, New Zealand and Asia and then handling the full range of the company’s activities.
