MEDIA RELEASE COURTESY OF: Orana Arts
Orana Arts is seeking feedback from the community on all aspects of its services and planned programs for future years as the local Regional Arts Organisation prepares to update its Strategic Plan for 2011-12.
A non-profit professional Regional Arts organisation funded by Local and State Government, Orana Arts services cover three key areas: communications strategy, advice, support, and administration and partnership projects. Orana Arts works in partnership with the local government areas of Dubbo, Gilgandra, Mid-Western, Narromine and Warrumbungle.
In 2009 an estimated 2,000 people participated in fifteen Orana Arts driven projects, ranging across a number of genres. Projects are implemented according to community consultation and generally have a regional focus. In 2011 – 2012 Orana Arts will conduct a similar number of outreach projects, many in conjunction with partner organisations including Communities NSW Sport and Recreation, Human Services - Housing NSW, Dubbo City Council's Western Plains Cultural Centre and Macquarie Conservatorium.
The community can help shape the development of arts and cultural activity in the region by filling out a simple online survey available by clicking on the link on the Orana Arts homepage.
Regional Arts Development Officer Merryn Spencer is encouraging community feedback and appreciates people’s frankness in this process. “We are keen to get feedback and direction for our programs as well as gauge how we are travelling. We want to provide the best service to our communities and find out what you think. Now is your time to get your voice heard and help to direct Orana Arts programs for the next two years.
The Orana Arts board will assess this community feedback and complete the strategic planning process at the September board meeting.”
“We look forward to hearing your thoughts and welcome all comments.”
Those who return their survey to Orana Arts prior to Wednesday 8 September will go into the draw to win a FREE lunch experience for 4 at two eight two eight Gulargambone, accompanied by matching wines from partners Robert Stein, Mudgee’s multi-award winning boutique winery.
The survey link can be viewed here.
