ABOUT J-STUDIO ARTIST COMMUNITY:

J-Studios is an artist-run studio complex located in North Fitzroy. The centre houses artists' and writers' studios, as well as performance and rehearsal spaces, 'Nick's Space' print-making and art class room, and 'The Library Artspace' Gallery.

The 'Library Artspace' Gallery, 'Nick's Space' art room and the performance/rehearsal space are open to the general public, see our website for more information on hiring these spaces or applying for an exhibition.

The J-studios office is open Wednesdays and Thursdays 12-5pm.

MISSION STATEMENT:

1. To provide low-cost artist/writers studios, exhibition, performance and rehearsal spaces.

2. To develop a unique artist-run community which fosters inter-disciplinary collaboration and creative growth through and within the arts.

3. To develop and promote events which encourage creative renewal and inter-disciplinary collaboration.

4. To develop a variety of arts resources, including an education program, publishing, literary and recording programs.

5. To maintain a vibrant variety of artforms within the community profile.
