Kindred Studios

Since it's inception in 2005, Kindred has grown to become one of Melbourne's premier 100% green multi-plartform art venues.

It was designed and developed by Simon Hodgson, with a desire to not only be a professional and productive space, but to be a multi use facility that provides a platform for community art and creative projects. Kindred is constantly proactive in enjoying and developing with the local community.

Kindred has enjoyed hosting Australian Womens' circus events (2005), launch of the Maribyrnong Big West Festival in 2005, All Ages Freeza events, Kindred Battle of the Bands, Council Open Day, and more recently Into The Red music and art festival

Kindred now host Victoria University's school of Creative Industries providing a great educational facility.

Kindred is constantly expanding and finding new ways to employ the soul and the vibe of the community around it, in becoming a integral part of Victoria's musical landscape...



consisting of a large front performance lounge, 11 band rehearsal rooms, A professional photography/video white room.

Large foyer area with gaming, complimentary tea and coffee facilities and relaxing lounge.

Upstairs we have a performance hall, large and professional white wall for photography and video. The White space includes a change room, fully equipped with makeup mirror, clothes racks and tea facilities.

Front licensed performance area with large state of the art sound rig

Kindred has many multi-use common areas, which have been used for theatre productions, photo shoots and classes.

Monday to Thursday (6-12pm) $65 / $50 (half session)

Off Peak Rates:

Friday (12pm-12am)

Saturday (12-6pm),

Sunday (12-6pm)

Monday to Thursday (12-6pm) $55 / $40 (half session)

Solo Rehearsal Rates (Please note, maximum 1 performer per room)

Peak Rates $40 / $30

Off Peak $30 / $20
