Swell Sculpture Festival

Swell Sculpture Festival presents an exhibition of 50 leading and emerging sculptors along the impressive Currumbin Beach. Using the ocean and natural landforms as a backdrop, the sculptures are built for the outdoor environment and utilise materials such as steel, bronze, timber, stone, glass and copper.

As a major cultural event on Queensland's Gold Coast, Swell Sculpture Festival is free, open all hours and is enthusiastically embraced by over 180,000 visitors experiencing art in an open air setting.

Twilight Walks allow visitors to gain insight and understanding into the sculptured works during the exhibition. Meet the Artist Talks are held throughout the exhibition.

In addition to the exhibition, Swell Sculpture Festival provides activities that include Kids' Workshops and a Public Art Forum.

The Swell Smalls Gallery is an exhibition of smaller works by exhibiting artists and is hosted during the main exhibition at The Way of Design Gallery adjacent to the beach front along Pacific Parade, Currumbin.

Artists will vie for Gold Coast City Council Acquisition of up to $20,000 for permanent installation in Division 14. Other awards include the highly popular People’s and Kids’ Choice Awards, Emerging Artist Award, Media Award and Artist Peer Award.
