Waverley Council runs a number of arts and cultural events and programs, and owns cultural facilities such as the Bondi Pavilion, Waverley Library and Bondi-Waverley School of Arts.
Bondi Pavilion
The Bondi Pavilion is a multi-arts venue overlooking Bondi Beach. The Pavilion has an art gallery, a theatre, music recording and rehearsal studios, pottery studios and spaces for classes, rehearsals, workshops and meetings.
Waverley Library
Waverley Library helps people access the arts and culture through initiatives such as reading and poetry groups, writing festivals, history walks and art exhibitions. The Library is famous for the 'The Nib': Waverley Award for Literature, a prestigious $20,000 prize for writers.
Bondi-Waverley School of Arts Building
Waverley Council provides this building for the Waverley Woollahra Art School , which runs classes in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. Waverley Council supports the Waverley Woollahra Art School to run the Waverley Art Prize, and sponsors an additional $7,000 in prize money for artists.
Council also runs an Artist-in-Residence Program which offers artists three non-residential studios in the Bondi-Waverley School of Arts building.
